Dr. Anusha Rachel Mathew earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from The University of Houston College of Optometry after completing her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Houston. Since childhood, she aspired to become a doctor and after shadowing various healthcare professionals, she became interested in optometry due to the versatility of the profession with its many specialities.
Dr. Mathew practices full scope optometry that includes comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fittings, specialty lens evaluations, and has a special interest in the treatment and management of dry eye, eye injuries and infections, corneal and retinal diseases, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. She also offers LASIK consultations and co-management of cataracts. She is fluent in English, Malayalam, and conducts eye examinations in Spanish. Dr. Mathew is committed to serve her patients with the utmost care for their vision and ocular health and ensure all their needs and concerns are addressed.
In her free time, Dr. Mathew enjoys spending time with her fiancé, family and friends, being outdoors and traveling, eating all the good food Houston has to offer, and trying her hand in baking and cooking.
